Last month had 9 finalists in three categories of the Xperience Awards. Now, after a bout of covid, we can share the results…
Did we win the top prize? We did not. But we did get four images in the top 10, out of 4000 entries. So rather than be despondent about the failure to get the top prize we are absolutely delighted that the consistent quality of our photography has been recognised by our peers.
Our first goal on every photoshoot is to give our clients - the families who have trusted us with their time - the best possible experience and beautiful photographs that represent them, and that they want to show off. But we also want to raise the bar beyond a loved snapshot to create something that is as close to art as possible. Something you couldn’t do by yourself.
Which is where awards come in. Not for the plaudits, but to make sure that we push ourselves. Push our creativity. Push our craft. And that’s why we’re so pleased with the top 10 placings. One perfect image could be luck; multiple chosen images shows us we are doing the right thing.
Sadly, it was the final year for the Xperience Awards, but we’ll continue to push our photography and use other awards to create the best photographs we can for our families.
